Exit Estimator
Frequently asked questions
Is this really free?
Yes. The Exit Estimator is completely free to use. We do not ask for payment details and we do not lock the report behind a paywall.
Who can see that I searched?
Only you. Your search is confidential. We do not email the company, its employees, or its advisers. 1868 Capital only sees your details if you choose to request a callback.
How accurate is the valuation?
It is an indicative range, not a formal valuation. The accuracy depends on the quality of your filed accounts. Where accounts are full and recent, the range is more reliable. Where accounts are abridged or outdated, we flag the uncertainty clearly.
What data do you use?
We use public Companies House filings, your company website and general public information about your company and industry. We are not able to and do not access bank accounts, tax returns, or any private information.
What if my accounts do not show a profit and loss table?
We estimate revenue and EBITDA from the balance sheet, employee numbers, sector data, and the website if it is not published in your accounts. We mark every estimate clearly, and you can adjust the figures before the final report if you wish.
What is EBITDA?
EBITDA is Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortisation. It is the profit measure buyers most often use to value SME businesses, because it strips out financing and accounting choices.
Can I get a PDF?
Yes. Once your report is ready, you can email yourself a PDF. We ask for your email address only at that point.
What happens after I get my estimate?
Nothing, unless you want it to. You can request a callback from Alec Dent at 1868 Capital to discuss it, or close the page. There is no obligation.
Will 1868 Capital contact me?
We do not call you unless you fill in the callback form or call Alec directly. The valuation report is generated automatically.
Can I use this for a business I am thinking of buying?
Yes, but treat it as a starting point. The tool is designed for owners thinking about selling, but buyers can use it for an initial view on a business they are interested in. A proper acquisition valuation needs deeper due diligence.
